Happy Imbolc everybody! Celebrated in the Northern Hemisphere on February 1st to 2nd, or when the sun is 15 degrees Aquarius, the ancient festival of lmbolc honours the waking up of the Earth as we look forward to the longer days and the spring months ahead. It is a purification festival sacred to the ancient healing goddess Brigit or Brigid who is associated with domesticated animals, blacksmithing, poetry and protection. A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, so the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler spied the precious stone in her bag and asked the woman to give it to him.
She did, without hesitation.

The hungry traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime! But, a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise woman.

"I cannot stop thinking about this." he said, "You see, I know how valuable this stone is. And I give it back to you in hopes that you will give me something even more precious in return." he paused, then said...

"Can you give me what you have within you, that enabled you to gift me this in the first place?"
