Hi everyone! I wanted to share a couple of wonderful opportunities happening this month for Middle and High School Students in northwest Georgia, hosted by Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center, Blue Ridge Area Health Education Center, and Georgia Highlands College!

Healthcare Discovery Camp (Grades 5-8 / June 10-12, 2026)
Come join us for three days of fun, hands-on exploration of the world of healthcare! Activities will be led by a diverse group of professionals from a variety of healthcare settings. Featured careers include: Nursing, Emergency Care, Pharmacy, Respiratory Care, Athletic Training, Dental Hygiene ... and many others!

Healthcare Exploration Camp (Grades 9-12 / June 22-25, 2026)
Come join us for four days of interesting, hands-on exploration of careers in healthcare! This camp is a great way for students who are interested the healthcare industry to learn and experience a variety of roles, and to prepare for the next steps in their education journey. You’ll learn about Nursing, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Genetics and much more! In addition, we will spend a day at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center visiting the Laboratory, Radiology, Surgery, Respiratory Care, Emergency Care and IP Rehabilitation departments at the hospital.

Location: Georgia Highlands College, 3175 Cedartown Hwy, Rome, GA 30161

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Middle School Discovery Camp $25.00

We're celebrating National Nurses Week by joining the American Nurses Association's Nurses Light Up The Sky campaign, illuminating our campus sign in bright red to honor nurses across the country. ❤️

Thank you to all FNU nurse-midwives and nurse practitioners who are healthcare heroes in their communities.

We are so honored to recognize this group of students! Our Cohort 7 Blue Ridge AHEC Scholars have truly impressed us over the last 2 years. They have juggled school, family, jobs, life in general, and still managed to complete all requirements of the AHEC Scholars Program. We were honored to have Dr. Andrew Thaw, Dean of the School of Health Professions at Dalton State College, Alania Henderson, GHC Dental Hygiene Clinic Coordinator, and Bryson Shiftlett, GHC Nursing Instructor, as special guests at our Scholars graduation ceremony on Friday. We are thrilled that such high-quality healthcare professionals will be entering the workforce soon! Congratulations, Scholars! We are so proud of you!
