GriefShare is a Christ centered caring, no cost support group that meets regularly throughout the year. It is available to all families who have experienced a loss and seek an environment of love and understanding.

Our goal is to ensure that the program provides a comforting and supportive environment for all attendees.

These meetings take place every Tuesday at the Clinton Township Senior Center.

✝️Historical Figures of the Church: St. Vincent DePaul ✝️

St. Vincent de Paul became a priest at just 19 years old in 1600. He was sold into slavery after being captured by Turkish pirates. After he escaped, he became friends with the king and queen of France, aiding them in diplomacy. He traveled much and ministered to the elderly, sick and the poor, doing everything he could to provide for them. He was known for his kindness and generosity. But he knew he could not do the important work of serving the poor and sick alone and he reached out to others, including Queen Anne of Austria, for monetary help.

St. Vincent de Paul dedicated his life to helping the poor and to helping others dedicate their own lives to God. He, along with others he gathered, fed thousands of people in need daily.

The men who followed him formed the Vincentians, a community of priests, while the women came together to form the Daughter’s of Charity.

Due to St. Vincent de Paul’s life’s work, he is considered the patron saint of charitable societies.

There are some people we carry with us always. Their presence may no longer fill the rooms of our homes, but their love remains woven into our lives in the memories we treasure, the lessons they taught us, and the countless ways they helped shape who we are.

In her beautiful poem In Blackwater Woods, Mary Oliver reflects on the difficult truth that to love deeply also means learning, eventually, to let go. Yet for those of us who live by faith, letting go does not mean forgetting. We entrust those we love to God, holding close the promise that death is not the end and that love reaches far beyond this earthly life.

As you read Mary Oliver’s words, may they offer a quiet moment to remember someone you love, to give thanks for the time you shared, and to find comfort in the memories that remain. ❤️

Grandparents hold a special place in our families and in our hearts. Through their stories, traditions, wisdom, and unconditional love, they help shape who we are and leave a legacy that can be carried from one generation to the next.

This Grandparents Day, we give thanks for the grandparents who are still here to share their love and guidance, and we lovingly remember those who have gone before us. Though we may miss their familiar voices, warm embraces, and comforting presence, the lessons they taught us and the love they gave remain a part of us always.

May God bless all grandparents today, and may He hold close those we remember with love. ❤️

Happy Grandparents Day!

Today marks 25 years since the events of September 11, 2001, a day forever etched in our hearts.

On this Patriot Day, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who courageously ran toward danger, and the countless families whose lives were forever changed. We also remember the extraordinary compassion, courage, and unity that brought Americans together in the days that followed.

As we reflect on this solemn anniversary, may we continue to honor those we lost by choosing kindness, serving one another, and praying for peace in our communities, our nation, and our world.

May God bless the families who carry the memories of their loved ones, our first responders and service members, and all those who continue to bear the weight of that day.

This Labor Day, we pause to recognize the dedication, perseverance, and contributions of hardworking people throughout our communities past and present.

Scripture reminds us that there is dignity and purpose in the work we do: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” Colossians 3:23
As we enjoy this day of rest, may we give thanks for the work of our hands, the people who labor beside us, and those whose years of hard work helped build the families and communities we cherish today.
