🎒 Hi friends! We are making incredible progress on our backpack project donations! However, we are not there, YET. My friends and I still need your help! If you are able/willing to give this year, please do! A short list of the biggest needs can be found below. xoxo ❤

🎒 5th Annual Utah Backpack Project! 🎒 Coming soon!
Purpose: To supply 425 children with backpacks full of basic necessities and, hopefully, some exciting items too! Thus, supporting the parents/families who are trying to make ends meet during the holidays.
Backpacks are donated to the Granger Food Pantry and a Local Women’s Shelter.
We will collect donations throughout the month of October. Please keep us on your radar!

🎒4th Annual Backpack Project! 🎒
Let's GO! PLEASE SHARE!
The GOAL is 500 Backpacks filled with quality items!
As in the years past we will be collecting donations all through October. Putting everything together in November. Delivering them to the THREE selected organizations in December.
450 backpacks shared between the busy Granger Food Pantry in West Valley City AND a local Women and Children's Shelter.
225 will go to children ages 4-11 years old.
225 will go to teens 12 -17 years old.
NEW SPECIAL REQUEST: 50 backpacks will go to SINGLE PARENTS working their butts off to better their situations through a non-profit called Circles Salt Lake! Our friend, Michelle Crawford is the Director of this amazing program - Her crew is improving the lives of so many families in our community. These parents can really use a "win"! Let's give them a reason to smile.
Items requested for ALL backpacks include, but are not limited to:
HYGEINE ITEMS (toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, sanitizer, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc.)
WARM WEATHER GEAR (socks, beanies, gloves)
SCHOOL SUPPLIES: (Notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, journals, etc)
BOOKS! BOOKS! and more BOOKS!
SMALL GIFTS that will make them smile. Get creative and share your ideas. We are open to hearing all of your lovely suggestions.

IT'S GOING TO TAKE AN ARMY! Please let us know if you would like to volunteer in any form. There is plenty to do and it will be extremely worth it, I promise! Unless you tell me otherwise, I may post pictures of you participating in this project AND/OR give you a public shout-out for any donation made (likely at the end).

We are quickly approaching the 4th annual "Utah Backpack Project" time of year again. Keep an eye out for amazing deals on school supplies, hygiene items, winter gear, books, and other glorious additions to our backpacks! Please note the special request for 50 adult backpacks.
The GOAL: 500 BACKPACKS
225 - Elementary Ages (4-11)
225 - Junior High/High School (12 - 17)
50 - Adult (Circles)
We'll collect donations (physical and monetary) throughout October. Stuff and deliver the backpacks in early November. More details to come on exact dates.
Three areas of focus this year:
Women/Children(s) Shelter - As always, this one holds an extra special place in our hearts as we dedicate it to Sheila Hazlett. Sheila worked tirelessly to serve the women and children in the shelters.
Granger Food Pantry - Serving over 350 families weekly who are trying to make ends meet. Parents typically use our backpacks as part of a holiday gifts. (300 total)
Circles of Utah (new to our project)

*This will have a slight twist as we have adults who need our help. Circles of Utah serves (predominately) single parents with young children. These parents are required to commit to a 2-year program dedicated to giving them the tools/education to be self-sufficient and live above the poverty level. (50 adults)
*All things are subject to change. This is where we are at TODAY.
Home - Circles Salt Lake Your donation guarantees one balanced meal for each family to count on during the week. Providing a meal at our weekly meeting relieves financial and time constraints to Circles’ participants.
As we start our 4th year of the Utah Backpack Project we are working to build out to make us "Facebook official". Will be ask for donations again in October and fill/deliver them to the Food Pantry and schools in November. Stay tuned for a much better page AND details as we get closer.
