Yes, I have begun Stephenson Cree's going out of business sale. Preparing for this shut down has been very bittersweet.
No more Holiday Open Houses where Debbie and I prepared enough food to last a week!
No more long coffee breaks where I got to chat with Sally and Carol or Alice first thing in the morning.
I'll miss our regulars, those that came in weekly and those who came once or twice a year. So many stopped for a chat, and would say they were here for their "retail therapy"

We also sold the business building. As we were pulling up the seemingly endless supplies of furniture, and decorating props and business records I have been sifting through the 85 plus years of my family's retail fashion legacy. I am sorry that it ends with me. But I am so proud to have been a part of a dream that started as a little ladies clothing store in downtown Riverside, in 1935.

So we are going to stick our toes back in the water. We want to be cautious. No more than two people in the store at any time. Everyone wears a mask. Sanitizer on the ready...
But for anyone who is ready to step out we thank you and offer some savings in return.

On Tuesday March 17th we closed our doors for business. My main priority was the safety of my sales staff and that of our customers. I'm hoping it will be for two weeks, I'm expecting it will be through April, probably May. After my personal 14 day quarantine scare ends I will sneak into the store and do a better update. (I'm not very tech at home)
Please stay at home if you can, be smart, stay safe.
