The Riverside California Highway Patrol in conjunction with Platt College will be offering a car seat safety check-up event to the community tomorrow, Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Get your car seats properly installed and receive the most up-to-date information to keep your loved ones safe. You can call and book a time slot or just stop on by! See you soon.

On June 2, 2026, Day 2, officers and explorers from the California Highway Patrol Riverside area along with our friends and family from , , , .towing and were honored to receive the Special Olympics "Flame of Hope" from the Riverside Police Department.

The Torch Run is the largest fundraiser event benefiting Special Olympics. Another amazing time with an ever growing group, getting bigger and better every year as we continue to spread awareness! At the end of our run, the "Flame of Hope" was handed off to the UC Riverside Police Department. Thank you to all that came out to support this great event!

At approximately 11:05 AM, Riverside CHP officers were assisting Caltrans on Everton Avenue at Iowa Avenue when they were flagged down by a good samaritan advising them of a fire at the University Riverside Gardens Apartments.

Our officers quickly jumped into action and rushed to the scene where they observed a fire that was rapidly spreading. Without hesitation, our officers entered the complex and began notifying the residents of the fire. The officers assisted with evacuating residents and their pets. Once Riverside fire personnel arrived, our officers helped with securing the scene.

Thanks to the quick actions of the good samaritan, officers, and fire personnel, no injuries were reported.
