Favorite Day!! 😎♥️🥰

Rex Deserves a Chance Too

Yesterday was an incredible day for so many homeless pets. The Pawlentines Adoption Event saw lots of wagging tails and happy new beginnings as animals found their forever homes.

But not for Rex.

While many animals soaked up attention and love from the crowd, Rex—was left unnoticed. He spent the day lying quietly, his head down, looking defeated. In our eyes, he's gem, but today, no one gave him a second glance. Lately, it feels like in rescue, brown is the new black.

Imagine being passed over again and again, watching hopeful eyes meet yours, only to move on. Picture Rex, sitting quietly in the corner, his heart heavy from being overlooked time after time. His tail doesn’t wag as much, his bright eyes dim, and that spark of hope fades a little more each day. There’s no deeper sadness than feeling unwanted, and for dogs like Rex, it’s a loneliness they can’t understand. Just waiting—always waiting—for someone to see them, to choose them.

I promised Rex today that I wouldn’t stop trying to find him a home. But I can’t do it alone—I need your help.

If you’re reading this, please drop Rex a line in the comments or leave an emoji to boost this post. Like it, share it—anything to keep his story moving through the algorithm. We need as many people as possible to see him because you never know who might need Rex as much as he needs them. Dogs have a way of saving people, often when they least expect it.

Rex is an 11-month-old Yellow Lab mix, about 45 lbs. He’s crate-trained, playful with other dogs, and just an all-around amazing pup who deserves a shot at happiness.

Adoption applications can be found here: empirerescue.org.

Let's get Rex the love he deserves. 02/11/2025
