Our Spring 2027 Equus Coach® Training is now open for registration! 🌻

Equus coaching is more than standing nearby while your client stands by a horse. It requires specific skills to facilitate the coaching session, and an understanding of why we work with horses so you can best guide your client through a difficult topic in their life.

Going through this training can give you new skills, let you expand upon old skills, allow for your business to take a new direction, and give you a community of people who want to help others.

This spring we are offering trainings for both the East and West Coast, so you can go to the onsite location that is most convenient for you. The East Coast onsites will be at Spirit's Promise Equine Rescue Program in Albany, NY, and West Coast onsites will be at Nacimiento Ranch in Paso Robles, CA.

A new month, a new season, and another reminder that healing takes time.

For the horses who find their way to us, every season brings another opportunity to rest, to trust again, and simply be a horse.

As the leaves begin to change, we’re reminded that change can be beautiful, too. Here’s to cooler mornings, muddy boots, quiet moments in the pasture, and another month of giving deserving horses the life they’ve earned.

You’re going to lose yourself from time to time—come back. Come back to what your heart knows, no matter how long you’ve been gone. Come back.

There are seasons when life pulls us so far from ourselves that we forget what it feels like to be grounded, heard, and whole. In those moments, horses offer something extraordinary: a quiet, honest presence that invites us to slow down, breathe deeply, and return to the truth within us.

Through Equus Life Coaching, horses can help us recognize emotions we’ve been carrying, rebuild confidence, strengthen boundaries, and reconnect with the parts of ourselves we may have set aside just to keep moving forward.

No judgment. No expectations. Just a safe space to pause, reflect, and listen for what your heart has been trying to tell you.

Sometimes, the first step home is simply standing beside a horse.

Horses remind us that solitude doesn’t have to mean loneliness. Sometimes, stepping away from the noise is exactly where healing begins where we find our balance, reconnect with ourselves, and remember what truly matters.

There is peace in the quiet. There is strength in stillness. And sometimes, finding your center means giving yourself permission to just stand in the field for a while.

Healing doesn’t always look serious. Sometimes, it looks like this. 🤍🐴

Sometimes healing is a horse rolling freely in the grass, soaking up the sunshine, without a care about what comes next.

For a horse who has spent years working, carrying, giving, or simply surviving, moments like this mean more than we can put into words.

This is safety.
This is trust.
This is freedom.

And this is why we rescue.

At Spirit’s Promise, we believe every horse deserves the chance to put down the weight of their past and discover what it feels like to simply be a horse again.

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our nation.

We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who answered tragedy with extraordinary courage and compassion.

At our horse rescue, our mission is rooted in giving back to those who have spent their lives giving everything they had. Many of the horses who find their way to us have worked tirelessly—carrying, pulling, serving, and enduring—until they had little left to give.

On this day of remembrance, we are reminded of the meaning of service, sacrifice, resilience, and second chances.

May we continue to honor September 11 not only by remembering those we lost, but by choosing compassion, caring for those who have served, and standing together when we are needed most.
