Congratulations to Sue White for 50 years of service at Avamere Rehabilitation of Eugene! 👏We were honored to celebrate Sue and this tremendous milestone.

Sue began working at our Eugene location decades before the building became part of Avamere in 1997. This building remains one of the original handful of buildings that helped shape the early foundation of Avamere.

Reaching a 50 year work anniversary is a rare accomplishment and reflects an extraordinary level of dedication, consistency, and commitment to both residents and teammates over the years. We gathered our team, leaders, friends, and community members to recognize Sue’s lasting impact and the people she has served throughout her career.

Congratulations to Sue on an incredible milestone, and thank you for five decades of service! 💙

We're thrilled to congratulate Avamere at Sandy Arbor for its fourth deficiency-free state survey in May 2026, following the recent assisted living survey results in March. This is the highest recognition awarded by the state, reflecting excellence in clinical and environmental compliance, as well as positive feedback from both residents and staff.

Executive Director Maddie Almodovar stated: "These kinds of results don’t happen overnight. They are achieved through daily discipline and dedication. It is a team effort, and I am surrounded by the most fantastic humans. My Memory Care Administrator, Crissy Olinger, is a true inspiration to work with. Anyone who spends five minutes with her can feel the love she has for her residents. I look forward to many more years of providing residents and families with the high level of care they need and deserve."

Congratulations to our Avamere at Sandy Arbor team! This result demonstrates a deep commitment to compassionate, consistent care for every resident and family served. Through daily dedication and heartfelt service, the team continues to exemplify our mission "to enhance the life of every person we serve."

This Skilled Nursing Week, we recognize our outstanding team and their impactful work. Avamere Rehabilitation of Lebanon hosted a carnival week filled with meaningful moments and community spirit. The team enjoyed dress-up days, carnival games, and festive carnival-inspired food.

This year’s Skilled Nursing Week theme, “Moments in Bloom,” reflects the compassion, teamwork, and dedication that shape daily life at Avamere. Thank you to our dedicated team for making this week so memorable for our residents and families. We are honored to celebrate the care and commitment that continue to help our community flourish. 🌼

Last week we hosted an all-company call with CEO Mary Kofstad live from Avamere at Newberg, where we highlighted the people and teams making an impact every day within our organization. We got to know three team members driving success and impact at this assisted living community: Kelcie Ma**er (Executive Director), Michelle Bone (Director of Sales and Outreach), and Seth Leard (Culinary Director).

They shared their approach to care for today's seniors, including respecting each resident's individuality and preferences. Mary shared company updates and announcements with a special shoutout to nurses in honor of National Nurses Week.

Thanks to all who joined! Calls like this are a great opportunity to strengthen our teams, celebrate meaningful work, and stay connected through our shared mission to enhance the life of every person we serve.

As we continue our celebrations during Black History Month, get to know some influential individuals whose influence profoundly impacts our world. 2026 marks 100 years of Black history commemorations, honoring the visionaries who advance equality and preserve the history of Black Americans, and the moments that continue to shape progress today.

Carter G. Woodson founded the week-long observance honoring Black history in February, later expanded to a full month. Through carefully chosen themes and resources, he elevated the study of Black history and highlighted the profound contributions of Black Americans to the nation’s cultural and historical landscape.

Fannie Lou Hamer was a leading advocate for voting rights and women’s rights and a powerful voice of the Civil Rights Movement. After years of advocacy, she became a member of Mississippi’s first integrated delegation, marking a historic breakthrough in political representation. 48 years after her death, Hamer was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.

Jesse Jackson is a civil rights activist, politician, and ordained minister who was integral in bridging the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s with late-20th century electoral politics and activism. He formed two non-profit organizations, Operation PUSH and the National Rainbow Coalition (which later merged into the Rainbow PUSH Coalition), with missions of advocacy for socioeconomic and political equality.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! Each January, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring legacy of service and advocacy. A central leader of the American Civil Rights Movement, Dr. King dedicated his life to advancing justice, equality, and unity.

Here are a few important moments from Dr. King’s life:

✅1944: Dr. King enrolled at Morehouse College at 15 years old. He earned his PhD in systematic theology in 1955 at Boston University.
✅1963: He organized the historic March on Washington, a peaceful demonstration of the injustices faced by Black Americans nationwide.
✅1964: Dr. King earned the Nobel Peace Prize for his powerful activism against racism and the movement for equality.

Today as we reflect on Dr. King’s legacy, we are reminded of the importance of serving others and treating all people with dignity and respect.
