Community Quilt Sew Day is Saturday, August 15th. Join us at Quilt Works to work on our Community Quilt. No registration needed, just bring your sewing machine, dark thread, and team spirit as we work to assemble the guild’s current quilt project!

Our Whisper Challenge quilts were debuted at the Modern Threads Quilt Show last weekend! Quilters were grouped together in 4s and assigned a number from one to four. Quilter One picked a photo for inspiration and made a mini quilt. Quilter Two saw only a picture of the quilt and was tasked at making their own mini quilt based on the previous quilt. Quilter Three, only saw Quilter Two’s quilt. We went through this process with each group of four quilters and ended up with 40 beautiful works of art! August 8th from 10 am to 4pm members can register on our website to sew from the comfort of your home with fellow members! Work on those WIPs, UFOs, new projects, or even clean your sewing space with your quilt besties in tow. Not a member? Join today at amqg.wildapricot.org!

We hosted the amazing, award winning quilt artist, Michelle Jackson at our Modern Threads artist reception on Friday. What a treat to see these beautiful works of art up close and hear some stories directly from the maker! Michelle’s unique techniques and attention to detail are inspiring! In addition to sharing her quilts, we had submissions in our show from community members that learned from Michelle and made their own works of art. Keep an eye on our social media for more photos of the show!

A big ‘Thank you!’ to everyone who pitched in to make our annual DeStash Sale and Modern Threads Quilt Show a big success! So many members, vendors, sponsors, and craft-loving community coming together to plan and execute a fun event that helps recycle, raise funds, and shares some amazing fiber arts!
