Modern life relies on digital resources more than ever, which means that cybersecurity is more important than ever.

Today, Rep. Kathleen Cates brought together state leades, nonprofits, and the local business community for a Cybersecurity Legislative Symposium. Participants discussed growing areas of concern and potential policy solutions to better protect consumers, companies, and organizations across New Mexico.

Here are a few things I have done in the past year on the behalf of my constituents.

Many of you have received what is called a “push poll,” wherein my opponent has continued to twist the facts. Do not be fooled by these dishonest politically partisan attempts to attack my voting record. I am proud of my record – standing up for the disadvantaged; working to protect our essential water supply; and, reforming medical malpractice to help lower the costs of healthcare.

New Mexico Land Commissioner Stephanie Garcia Richard has once again denied an application to build a portion of Project Jupiter’s natural gas pipeline through state lands.

There are few, if any, collateral benefits that Project Jupiter and the ancillary infrastructure facilitating it offer to New Mexico state lands or the public institutions we serve. Based on available information, the project will impose environmental costs on New Mexico that will be greater than any resulting benefits to the local community or the state as a whole.
