I wanted to reach out as I have been pretty silent lately.

I struggle with Fibromyalgia and in 2019, my husband agreed to let me have chickens . It was my mental saving grace. The outlet of caring for my birds meant everything to me and helped so much with pulling me back from wanting to end my life.

Everyone hits their breaking point in life . You come to a fork in the road and must choose a path to move forward. I am here.

I have had two very bad experiences this year where over 1,000 dollars of my hard earned money , selling birds , tendering and blood, sweat and tears poured into being able to add new genetics for my egg pen have pushed me over the edge. I waited over 15 months for 500 dollar purchase to add heavy bloomed Marans to my flock from crosshatch . I was treated as though I didn’t matter , the birds didnt matter and that my money spent didn’t matter. I was gas lite and lied too.

I spent 700 dollars on hatching eggs to add genetics to my farm. I sold over 80% of my mottled hatches this year to help pay for it . The hatch was devastating with deformed chicks fighting to survive.

I can not tell you how many times I bought birds and they are diseased when I get them or absolutely not what I purchased or sold top dollar chick boxes with all rejects and poor genetics .

I am done . I am done with being taken advantage of . This has ruined my joy .

These events have triggered severe fibro flares , stress, anxiety and depression in my life . Have taken away from my family and my birds.

I will be selling the bulk of my birds and keeping my birds that I am bonded with . I am going back to being a simple chicken lady that has beautiful eggs and birds .

Will I sell hatching eggs when I have them ? Sure.
If my broody mommas hatch extra babies will I sell those ? Sure

What I am not doing is hatching every year anymore and selling chicks . I am not doing that anymore .

I am supporting the chicken world in that way anymore .

If you message me asking only for hens - I will ignore you .

I need boys to go with a girl or two until I have no boys left .

They will be priced under what I value them at .

I will not hold onto any birds past next weekend . They need to be picked up and paid for .

I do not guarantee s*x . I will not take back any birds.

Well, I am sure glad I didn’t sell this one . I thought it was a boy . I don’t need a blue mottled boy . It’s a little lady 😭❤️💕
