One of the most powerful moments was meeting a teenage girl who was rescued through their work and now lives here in Katy, TX. Hearing her story firsthand was truly inspiring.

Thanksgiving is a time for families and celebration. Here are a couple of things you should keep in mind to keep this Thanksgiving safe:

-Slow down and wear seatbelts: Leave early, be alert while driving and wear seatbelts.
-Don’t drink and drive
-Be careful when frying your turkey: make sure to set up your burners outdoor, away from structures and off the deck. Make sure your pot is large enough to avoid overflowing. Only completely thawed and dry turkeys can go in the fryer.
-Keep a fire extinguisher nearby
-Keep an eye on what you’re heating up
-Have working smoke alarms.
