There are plenty of ways to "Halff" fun this summer! 😎 Did you know you can experience some of our infrastructure and parks projects in real life?
Check out these 5 spots for your next adventure:
👣 1. Heritage Trail | Round Rock, TX
Halff partnered with the City of Round Rock to plan, design and deliver this transformative park and trail system through the historic downtown district. It weaves together historic elements of the original "round rock" and a signature spiral ramp connecting to the heart of the city. Originally initiated as a master planning effort, Halff supported it through final design and construction, ensuring the successful realization of the City’s vision.
🎵 2. Riverfront Music Garden | Jacksonville, FL
Halff helped shape this interactive riverfront destination through landscape architecture, hardscape, irrigation, lighting and audio/visual design services. Working with Hanson Professional Services and the City of Jacksonville, the space is now a great place for visitors to enjoy the St. Johns River while exploring music-inspired features.
🚴 3. Deep Fork Creek Trail | Oklahoma City, OK
A 4.5-mile trail, Halff designed the trail alignment and provided bridge engineering, drainage improvements, ADA compliance services and project management in partnership with the City of Oklahoma City. It helps close one of the final gaps in Oklahoma City's growing trail network, which connects key destinations together.
🌾 4. Old Celina Park | Celina, TX
Partnering with the City of Celina, Halff was responsible for the design of this one-acre all-inclusive playground located within Old Celina Park. Additional park improvements included new trails, a service road, restroom facility and ADA-accessibility upgrades that make the park welcoming for all ages.
⛰️ 5. Hill at Sims | Houston, TX
Halff served as the prime civil engineering consultant for this award-winning transformation with the Harris County Precinct 1 and the Houston Parks Board. It helped turn a regional flood-control basin into a 100-acre community destination that delivers both recreation and natural flood protection.
Which park did you pick? Let us know in the comments!

💧 Stormwater converted to potable water is redefining water resuse. With 1.3 million people residing in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas, this fast-growing corridor faces critical needs as they experience prolonged drought and increasing water demand. That's what sparked an innovative project.
The Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 deep in South Texas is rethinking water supply. The first of its kind, this award-winning pilot-scale project was strongly advocated for by Hidalgo County Precinct 1 Commissioner David L. Fuentes. It captures stormwater, treats it and delivers potable water. Now, plans are underway to construct a full-scale treatment plant capable of producing enough water for 20,000 residents (5 million gallons per day), with potential to serve more than 200,000 people.
This project not only innovates a new water supply and creates a blueprint. The 225-acre detention pond also mitigates flooding, showing how infrastructure can serve multiple purposes. Zooming out, the project redefined the industry’s relationship with stormwater uses in arid and flood-prone regions.
It's a story about how engineering excellence can alter a community's approach to one of its most vital supplies: water.
