🔥There is a large prescribed burn tonight, so there’s no need to call 911 or the fire department for smoke and flames seen in the area of Gore Ranch in southwest Redding area.

REDDING, CAL FIRE Shasta-Trinity Unit/Shasta County Fire Department personnel will be conducting a prescribed burning operation in Shasta County as part of ongoing efforts to reduce wildfire risk, improve rangeland conditions, and provide valuable
training opportunities for firefighters.

The project is scheduled to begin on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m. and continue through the early morning hours of Friday, July 3, 2026.
Location: Gore Ranch
Acres: Approximately 46 acres
