I am an organizer and Shasta County's elected delegate for Assembly District 1 in the California State Democratic Central Committee.
This year I supported Bernie Sanders in the Democratic presidential primary--as did most Democratic voters in Shasta County in particular and the North State in general--and I believe the general election was a referendum on the neoliberal policy direction of the Party over the last 36 years. The result of the general election presents a good opportunity to change the party to better reflect the values of its activists and constituents overall rather than the specific interests of the professional/donor classes. I would like to help move the Party in that direction.
