Yesterday, our amazing 8th graders celebrated their very last day at Excel Academy with an unforgettable trip to Water Works Park! From splashing in the pools to catching some shade and relaxing under the cabanas, it was the perfect way to cap off an incredible middle school journey.

Of course, no celebration is complete without some great food and even better company. 🍔🍕

Huge congratulations to Classroom 1 at Excel Academy, who officially became published authors today! 🥳✍️

Our talented students wrote and published their very own book titled My Favorite Animal. Each student contributed by choosing their favorite animal, writing a dedicated paragraph, and illustrating their pages. Today, they proudly took the stage and presented their hard work to the entire school! 🦁🐘🐬

To celebrate this massive milestone, Ms. Aileen hosted an official book launch party complete with a delicious spread of lemonade, chips, and treats to showcase their published masterpieces. 🍋✨

But the celebrations didn’t stop there! Classroom 1 also took time today to honor:

Future Steps: Celebrating two wonderful students who will be transitioning back to their home districts at the beginning of the next school year. We are so proud of you! 🦅

🚨 Excel Academy Water Day Recap! 🚨

Today was one for the books! We officially kicked off the festivities with a visit from a local fire engine. Our students got a front-row seat to:

🧯 A full tour of the fire truck & gear
🛑 Crucial safety tips from the pros
💦 An epic cooldown session as the firefighters sprayed the soccer field!

Immediately after, we dove straight into Water Day mode with a classic cookout featuring hot dogs, popcorn, and non-stop fun under the sun. ☀️🌭

🎓 Rise, grow, soar- promote!

Today, Excel Academy officially celebrated our eighth-grade promotion, and we could not be prouder of our three fantastic graduates: Lucas, Stephen, and Austin! 🌟

Every single one of these students has worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone. We got to celebrate their unique journeys, hear a phenomenal student speech delivered by Austin, and cheer him on as he was awarded this year’s Phoenix Award! 🏆
During the ceremony, our Principal shared some wisdom for the road ahead:

“You have spent your time here learning how to advocate for yourselves, how to overcome obstacles, and how to rewrite the code when things got tough. You have earned your place on those high school campuses. Do not let the size of a big school make you feel small.”

Lucas, Stephen, and Austin—you have learned to rise above challenges, grow in character, and now it is time to soar into high school. We can’t wait to watch you change the world! 🚀

Phoenix Spotlight: Mapping Out the Future! 🧭🎓🍕

Our amazing 5th–8th graders from Excel Academy traded their usual classrooms for a day of big dreams and future planning! 🎒✨

First, our students took an inspiring tour of the Shasta College campus, getting a firsthand look at college life and all the incredible opportunities waiting for them after graduation. It’s never too early to start dreaming big!

After working up an appetite exploring the campus, the group headed over to the Shasta County Independent Study classroom. There, they got a closer look at what navigating college life is really like—and enjoyed some well-deserved pizza! 🍕❤️

We are so proud of how our students represented our school today—curious, respectful, and ready to take on the world. The future looks incredibly bright! 🔥
