Redding CAMFT is a local chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
The Redding Regional Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist (CAMFT) is a professional organization that serves the interests of Marriage and Family Therapists throughout Shasta, Tehama, Siskiyou, Modoc, Trinity, and Lassen County. A heartfelt thank you to Amanda Curtis, MSW, LCSW and Nicole Rupp, MSW, LCSW for presenting an engaging, insightful, and practical training on Beyond Survival: Integrative Treatment Approaches for Complex Trauma.
Attendees explored how chronic and developmental trauma impacts the nervous system, attachment, emotional processing, and relationships while gaining practical, evidence-informed interventions they can begin incorporating into their clinical work right away.
๐ง Highlights from the training included:
โจ Understanding the survival responses of fight, flight, freeze, and fawn
โจ Exploring the effects of complex trauma on nervous system regulation and relational functioning
โจ Learning attachment-based, somatic, regulation-focused, and inner critic interventions
โจ Differentiating between top-down and bottom-up approaches to trauma treatment based on client presentation
