Protect The Wolves

Mike Koshmrl reporter didn't even bother to mention our proposed. Sacred resource protection zone! I'm beginning to wonder if he's racist!! And doesn't give 2 f***s about indigenous religious beliefs!! That's what you call a racist individual!

No Mollie’s Pack, Yellowstone wolves killed, state reports after hunt area’s quick close - WyoFile Hunters fill a four-wolf limit in just four days, closing down two hunt areas for the season and sparing a wandering wolf pack.

Wolves Are Not the Villain
When someone tells you, “Wolves are killing all the deer, elk and moose,” ask them to look at the history.

That claim ignores basic ecology—and the historical record.

WOLVES AND UNGULATES EVOLVED TOGETHER.

Gray wolves and North American ungulates have coexisted for thousands of years. Wolves are native predators, not an invasive species suddenly dropped into an ecosystem.

Before European settlement, estimates put the gray-wolf population of the contiguous United States somewhere between 250,000 and 2 million animals. Human persecution, poisoning, trapping and government-sponsored extermination campaigns eventually eliminated wolves from most of their former range. (American Bar Association)

And what happened to the prey while wolves were being exterminated?

They didn't disappear because of wolves.

🦬 BISON

Estimates place historical bison numbers at roughly 30–60 million. By the late 1800s, fewer than 1,000 remained.

The National Park Service identifies westward expansion, railroads, fi****ms and the commercial slaughter of bison as major drivers of that catastrophic decline. The destruction of bison was also used as a tool to undermine the lifeways of Plains Indigenous peoples. (National Park Service)

Not wolves.

🦌 ELK

Federal wildlife sources cite an estimated 10 million elk before European settlement, with the population falling to fewer than 50,000 by the early 1900s.

The National Park Service notes that elk populations declined dramatically during the late 1800s amid westward expansion and agriculture. (USGS Publications)

Not wolves.

🦌 WHITE-TAILED DEER

Research estimates the pre-European-settlement population of white-tailed deer at roughly 24–33 million, while unregulated market hunting and other human pressures drove populations in many regions toward near-extirpation.

By around 1900, estimates put the remaining population at only 300,000–500,000. (PubMed Central (PMC))

Again—not wolves.

And here is something people conveniently forget:

WOLVES WERE BEING KILLED WHILE THESE UNGULATE POPULATIONS WERE ALSO BEING DECIMATED.

That isn't a coincidence. It is the history of North American wildlife exploitation.

“But the wolves were brought here!”
Let's be precise.

The gray wolf is native to North America. Wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone in 1995–96 because humans had eliminated them from the ecosystem.

Yes, some of the wolves used in the Yellowstone restoration were captured in western Canada. That does not make gray wolves an exotic or non-native species.

The National Park Service states there is no scientific evidence that the reintroduced wolves were significantly different from the wolves historically found in Yellowstone. Wolves naturally dispersed between Canada and the United States long before modern political borders existed. (National Park Service)

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has also documented that Canadian wolf populations are connected to wolf populations in the Un
