Looking for parking downtown Redding? Check out the 18 new bike racks located conveniently in front of businesses about downtown!

These racks were made possible by a collaborative project that included Healthy Shasta funding the materials to the Shasta College Welding Club to construct a rack that fit over abandoned parking meter poles. Sierra Pacific Windows powder coated the racks and the City of Redding Public Works Streets crew installed them.

The racks hold two bikes, one on each side, and are designed to be short term parking for errands and appointments downtown. Adding bike parking in convenient locations makes it easier for people to bike for transportation and helps businesses attract customers by providing free, convenient parking where customers can keep an eye on their bikes.

These racks improve safety and order by having a place for bikes to be locked to keep sidewalks and entry ways clear. 🚴‍♀️🏢
