Coming soon to an area near you! The Fleet Operations Section is working hard on the next vehicle platform for deployment. All white patrol vehicles have been a staple in the CHP’s fleet as another tool to keep California roadways safe, but this is a first for the Durango. These vehicles will be deployed statewide for both patrol and our Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facilities. Comment your thoughts below on the look of this Durango! 👀👀👀

🚨Traffic Advisory🚨
Please be aware if you plan on traveling on State Route 299 between Redding and Eureka.
Motorists Encouraged to Avoid Race Areas
During Ironman 70.3 in Redding
SHASTA COUNTY — Caltrans District 2 is advising motorists to avoid traveling through portions of Shasta County and the City of Redding on Sunday, August 16, as the Ironman 70.3 Northern California triathlon will result in significant traffic impacts on several state highways.
The event begins with the swim portion at Oak Bottom Marina in Whiskeytown National Recreation Area before athlete’s transition to a 56-mile bicycle course that utilizes and crosses several state highways throughout the region.
Traffic impacts will vary by location throughout the morning and early afternoon. Motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid these areas until the event has concluded. Those who must travel should expect delays, use alternate routes when possible and check QuickMap.dot.ca.gov before leaving.
State Highway Traffic Impacts
State Route 299 – Whiskeytown Area
• One-way traffic control between Oak Bottom and Rock Creek Road.
• 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Motorists should anticipate delays of up to one hour. Delays may be longer depending on race operations or emergency incidents.
Interstate 5/Oasis Road Overcrossing
• Closed to westbound traffic.
• 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
• Motorists should plan for up to 20-minute delays.
• The southbound I-5 off ramp and northbound I-5 on ramp will be closed. The southbound I-5 on ramp will only be accessible by eastbound traffic. The northbound I-5 off ramp will be right turn only.
State Route 299 – East Redding
• One-way traffic control between Dry Creek Road and Deschutes Road.
• 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• Motorists should expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
Airport Road/State Route 44 Overcrossing
• Closed to southbound traffic.
• 7:30 a.m. to noon
• Motorists should plan for up to 20-minute delays.
• The westbound SR 44 off-ramp will be closed.
Sundial Bridge Drive/State Route 44 Overcrossing
• One-way traffic control
• 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Motorists should plan for up to 30-minute delays.
• The northbound lane will be reserved exclusively for race participants while the southbound lane will remain open to traffic.
• The eastbound SR 44 off-ramp, westbound SR 44 off-ramp, and eastbound SR 44 on ramp will be closed.
Detour signs will be posted for all impacted state route locations outside of the State Route 299 one way traffic control in the Whiskeytown area.
