Grow Your Garden with the Seed Library at Redding Library! 🌱

Have you checked out our Seed Library lately? Thanks to generous community members, we're growing a collection of seeds that anyone can borrow, plant, and enjoy. A special thank you to Riley for contributing flower seeds and helping our Seed Library bloom! 🌸

How it works:
• Browse the Seed Library and take seeds home to plant
• Grow flowers, vegetables, herbs, and more
• Save seeds from your harvest when possible
• Donate extra seeds to help keep the collection growing for everyone

🌱 Have extra seeds at home? Consider donating them to the Seed Library. Donations of labeled, healthy seeds help other gardeners discover new plants and keep this community resource thriving.

What a wonderful start to summer at Shasta Public Libraries!

After an exciting Summer Adventure Kickoff, we kept the fun going with our first 2026 Lunch at the Library! Families enjoyed a free lunch, connected with friends, and kicked off a summer of reading, discovery, and adventure.

And we're just getting started! Join us every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Community Room for Lunch at the Library, now through July 31.

Free meals are available for kids and teens ages 18 and under. While supplies last.

Stop by at Noon for free library activities, Summer Reading Adventure fun, and free meals for youth 18 and under while supplies last. We can't wait to see you there!

Summer Reading Adventure Kickoff Event! ☀️

Join us at the Redding Library tomorrow, June 6, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM as we celebrate the start of summer and launch our Summer Reading Adventure!

Bring the whole family for a fun-filled afternoon featuring snow cones, a bounce house, activities, and more. It's the perfect way to kick off a season of reading, learning, and adventure!

Make a Difference: Become a Literacy Tutor!

Shasta Literacy is looking for volunteer tutors to help adult learners build reading, writing, English language, and everyday life skills. No teaching experience? No problem! Training and ongoing support are provided.

A few hours of your time can open doors, build confidence, and create lasting impact in our community.

Step Back in Time and Celebrate 250 Years of Liberty!

Join us on June 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm for Steeped in Freedom: A 250th Anniversary Liberty Tea Party. A delightful afternoon of tea, light refreshments, and living history to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of American Independence.
