⚔️Strong Spine, ❤️‍🔥Open Heart, 😌Clear Mind. Holistic coaching that builds confidence, restores balance, and helps you remember who you are.✨

I’m the founder of Benevolent Boxing, where we train two things: your body and your inner world. For adults, this is more than just boxing. We use breathwork, somatic tools, and honest conversation to build real confidence—from the inside out. Whether you’re reclaiming your voice, working through stress, or ready to feel more alive, this work meets you where you are. For youth, I create a space where young men (and women) can move their energy, express emotion, and grow stronger—without needing to prove anything. We build self-respect, focus, and emotional resilience, one round at a time.

“When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you.”
— African Proverb

This was our own little book club last year, and I learned so much from being a part of it.

A few things that made it work:

✅Keep it simple and do it together consistently.
We met once a week at the same time for about an hour.
We’d read 1–2 chapters at a time, taking turns reading out loud.
It kept everyone engaged and accountable because you knew your turn was coming. Afterwards, we’d actually talk about what we read and what each of us took away.

✅Choose the right book.
Something actually relevant to their lives that they’ll enjoy and learn from.
I almost never read in high school because I thought the books sucked 🤷🏽‍♂️ I didn’t care about what I was reading or see how it applied to my life.
We chose Mental Toughness for Young Athletes, which gave us something real to work with.

Hearing stories from top athletes they’d already heard of, but getting to see the human behind the athlete… the work ethic, adversity, discipline, and what it took to build themselves into who they became.

✅An intentional way of connecting.
It’s cool just hanging out together, but that’s also where we tend to habitually relate to one another.
There’s something different about creating a container where we have a shared point of focus, some structure, and boundaries around how we relate.
It gives us a chance to hear how each of us think.
To disagree.
To ask questions.
To share our own experiences.
To see each other in a totally different way.

Tomorrow we kick off season 2 😅 of our book club with Chop Wood Carry Water: HOW TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THE PROCESS OF BECOMING GREAT.

I used to spend so much time in boxing working on the craziest stuff.

20 punch combinations. Advanced footwork angles. Crazy head movement.

Basically trying to be (insert your top Boxer name here) before I could throw a decent jab 😄

It was exciting. It felt advanced.

10 years later, I have a much deeper appreciation for the basics.

Can I stay relaxed?
Am I balanced?
Am I breathing?
Are my feet connected to the ground?
Can I make the space between those two jabs just a little shorter?
Am I defensively responsible after I throw?

There is so much depth in something so simple.

Just like in life, there’s a whole lot of depth right there, right now.

Fall in love with the jab 🥊

Most of my life growing up I considered myself to be shy.

I remember feeling an immense amount of anxiety in line waiting to order my Starbucks coffee. “She’s going to ask me how I’m doing, what do I say?” 😅

I am a naturally introverted person. I definitely love and need my alone time.

But now I recognize that I’m not “just shy”, but I was afraid of saying the wrong thing.

Sounding dumb.

Being judged by others.

Offending someone.

Where are you holding yourself back by not expressing? 🤔

Here’s to continuing the process of leaning into that uncomfortable edge of expression and hopefully helping others do the same.

🥊 On one side, you get to work on your craft. Sharpen your boxing skills. Connect with your animal, your warrior.

On the other side, we also get to work on becoming better men, husbands, boyfriends, fathers and leaders.

✅Taking radical responsibility for our lives.
✅Creating safety for our partners.
✅Learning to work with our emotions.
✅Practicing how to pause instead of react.
✅Working toward mastery of ourselves. 🥋

At the end of the day, the goal isn’t just to become a better boxer.

It’s to take the lessons we learn here and integrate them into the way we actually live.

A spot just opened up for the Benevolent Warrior 3-month mentorship. DM me if you’re curious to explore this work.

Moments like this.

This is what it’s all about.

Boxing is just the vehicle. 🥊

-

In a world where boys can easily get the message that being a man is something to be ashamed of, they need good men reminding them otherwise.

Being a man is an honor and a responsibility.

Strong spine and an Open heart.⚔️❤️‍🔥
