From Hearing About the Mission… to Joining It!

At a recent Good News Club® Back-to-School Rally in Sacramento County, Pastor Ben shared a testimony that made us smile:

“One day I heard about CEF and it touched to my heart. The next minute, here I am—less than two weeks later—wearing all the CEF and Good News Club merch and sharing with all of you today!”

And that’s how partnership can begin.

Pastor Ben didn’t come alone. He brought members of his church and staff with him to learn more about Good News Club and how their church can help reach unchurched children right in their local community.

Our Back-to-School Rallies prepare volunteers and church partners for the 2026–2027 school year, giving them an overview of the biblical lessons children will hear and equipping teams to take the Gospel into public schools through Good News Club.

We love seeing local churches recognize that the mission field isn’t always somewhere far away. Sometimes, it’s the public school right down the street.

Here we go! Sharing the Gospel at one more fair to wrap up the summer fun!
Last night we had a sweet junior high girl make a decision for Christ. We shared with young kids, teens, transgenders and Mormons. We continue to proclaim the Good News of salvation through Christ Jesus, and it is an honor to do so!

Please pray for our team this weekend and for transformed lives at the Butte County Fair!

Last week didn’t play out how we all thought.

With excitement, we set up our CEF tent in Crescent City, ready to share the Gospel with kids.

During the first shift of the first day, an old squad car from the Sheriff’s Department that had been parked on the slope behind our booth rolled into our tent, damaging our equipment and hitting two of our volunteers. Praise God, there were no internal injuries or broken bones, but there was bruising and pain.

Everyone was rattled as we considered the what-ifs of what COULD have happened, but by God’s grace (and a borrowed table from the Sheriff’s Department) we were able to continue sharing the Gospel!

In the four days we were there, we were able to proclaim the GOOD NEWS of Jesus to nearly 200 kids!

The Gospel was also heard and witnessed by the department’s operations captain who was working the booth next door. She had tried to stop the car with her own body! That night she took a little pocket Jesus a volunteer had brought to our booth to keep in her squad car. Will you remember “M” in your prayers and that she will be brought to salvation?

Please pray for our sweet volunteers as they continue to recover. We trust that the Lord can (and WILL) use this for HIS good purpose!

“I’m going to believe in Jesus the rest of my life!” said a 7-year-old-boy at the fair today.

What a joy it is to share about someone greater than any superhero - Jesus, who is the almighty, all-powerful God!

Please pray for CEF as we share the Good News of Jesus one final day at the Del Norte County Fair tomorrow!

We had a wonderful evening at our Del Norte County Back-to-School Rally. Our theme was “No Good News Club is an Island” and we all wore our Hawaiian best 🌺 What a fun time to further train, equip and support our 5 Good News Clubs in this county!
