The Redding Rancheria is a sovereign nation where pride in tribal culture, history and identity is evident internally and in the larger community. The strength of our community lies in the honor of our elders, the health of our families and the self-reliance of our members. Members see Tribal resources as opportunities to become educated, contributing members and leaders of the community. Our community nurtures its youth and prepares them for future tribal and community leadership with skills for a changing world. Redding Rancheria leads by example in community involvement and stewardship of the land. Diverse economic investments provide a secure future for the Tribe and contribute to a vibrant local economy. Members are actively involved in the development of the Tribe and are leaders and innovators in governmental affairs and community development.
Heritage Day gave the Leadership Redding Class of 2027 a chance to step back in time and explore the people, places and stories that shaped the community we lead today.
We began with Redding Rancheria, learning about the history, culture and traditions of the Native people who have called this region home for generations. From there, we traveled to Shasta State Historic Park to experience our Gold Rush-era history, then returned to Redding to explore the Eaton House and the Shasta Historical Society.
Throughout the day, we heard stories from local historians and community members who helped connect our region’s past with the Redding and Shasta County we know today.
Leadership isn’t just about where a community is going. It’s also about understanding where it came from — the people who shaped it, the stories that formed it and the history we carry forward.

🌴☀️ Poolside Fun for a Great Cause ☀️🌴
On Saturday, September 26, the Redding Rancheria Legal Department joined the celebration for the Shasta Family YMCA’s 80th Anniversary at a fun poolside, resort themed party. 🎉
Attorney General Michael Hollowell and Paralegal Victoria Gemmill were joined by members of Tribal Council and leadership from Win-River Resort & Casino for an evening of games, prizes, laughter, and community celebration.
🏆 Michael took home the prize for the fastest co****le toss.
🍰 Victoria won a delicious treat during the cake walk.
It was an amazing evening celebrating 80 years of the Shasta Family YMCA and the positive impact it continues to make in our community. Thank you for a wonderful event! 💙

Join us October 2 through October 4, 2026, for the Stillwater Pow Wow at the Redding Rodeo Grounds, located at 715 Auditorium Drive in Redding.
Everyone is welcome. This event is open to the public and welcomes all ages. Please note that drugs and alcohol are not permitted.

Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
🥁We are honored to welcome Host Drum, Ozuye of North Dakota, and Guest Drum, Red Hoop of Nevada.
The weekend will include dance competitions for Junior, Teen, Adult, and Golden Age dancers in Fancy, Grass, Jingle, and Traditional categories, along with a Drum Contest, Spotlight Men and Women, All Around Men and Women, and Auntie’s and Uncle’s Biggest Earrings Contest.
Come experience a weekend of dancing, songs, community, and celebration. We look forward to seeing you there. ❤️
