As we look ahead to the next school year, we want to make sure every child in our community walks into their classroom on day one feeling confident, prepared, and ready to learn. But many families face financial hardships that make purchasing essential school supplies difficult.
You can make a direct impact by participating in the 10th annual Backpack and School Supply Drive through Child Support Services! They need donations of new backpacks and school supplies. Cash donations are also welcome. Please donate to the location nearest you. Every donation, big or small, helps a local student start the year off right. Let’s support youth and education together!

Probation is grateful for the Board of Supervisors’ support in approving the renewal agreement for the Shasta Day Reporting Center (DRC) at today’s Board meeting.
DRC staff, graduates, current participants, and DRC peer support attended the meeting to share their experiences and demonstrate their support for the continued operation of this important program.
With this renewed five-year agreement, the DRC will continue providing valuable services, resources, and support to individuals involved in the probation system, while also expanding and enhancing programming to better meet participant needs.
Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting to show your support for the program. Together, we are creating opportunities for positive change, accountability, and long-term success in our community.
We were proud to be a part of Camp GOAT. Already looking forward to next year!

Shasta County Probation Department was proud to hit the pavement today, running alongside local Special Olympics athletes for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run. Together, we carried the "Flame of Hope" through our community to support Special Olympics Northern California and raise awareness about their program!
Every step we take and every dollar raised helps provide year-round sports training, health resources, and leadership programs for these phenomenal athletes at zero cost to their families.
We love being part of this incredible tradition alongside our fellow local law enforcement agencies. Huge thank you to everyone who cheered us on! Plus another thank you to everyone who sponsored this run, especially the Chief Probation Officers of California!

Are you raising a strong-willed child and looking for new tools to help navigate the challenges? It’s almost time for our next session of the Parent Project!
While this "Best Practices" program is facilitated through the Probation Department, it is a community-based program open to anyone who wants to participate. It is specifically designed to give parents concrete methods and different approaches that work for strong-willed kids, helping families build stronger connections and prevent the need for outside intervention.
This class is also an excellent resource for families undergoing reunification or other major shifts within the household dynamic.
Details are on the attached flyer. To sign up or ask questions, please contact Officer Redelsperger at [email protected].
