Located in Red Bluff, CA
Diego is an excellent ranch horse, or for someone interested in a little competition he would do well in ranch versatility or the roping arena. Started slow and right, he has a solid foundation, knows all his basic maneuvers, is soft and responsive to the rider’s aids, and is only as athletic as the rider requests. He has almost equal amounts of whoa and go. He has an elevated trot and a rocking horse canter. He has been used on the ranch, worked cattle both in the arena/corrals and outside, can track a cow with minimal guidance from the rider, and keeps a sane head throughout it all. Diego is a sweet horse and would make someone an excellent partner for many years to come.
Looking for someone who wants to take their time and keep the horse in mind. Diego has been trained to be light and responsive to the seat, legs, and hands, so he is best suited for intermediate or above riders who have good body control and can proficiently trot and canter without using the reins for balance. He’d be the perfect partner to help an intermediate rider advance to their next level of horsemanship.
We care a great deal about our horses and will be particular in selecting Diego’s new person - must be a good fit for both rider and horse.
