Joining our entertainment line-up for this Friday's mid-day event are Erich Cawalla and Cliff Starkey, performing a variety of music from all decades.

Taste of Reading celebrates the reopening of the newly-renovated courtyard on the 600 block of Penn Street. In addition, the event will sample some of our delicious and diverse downtown restaurants.

So blessed to have this friend help us celebrate First Fridays Downtown. Friday May 6th, Penn St will be the place to be.

Working on a new branding package for the First Friday Downtown Beer Garden events series! We are elated to be partnered with the City Of Reading, PA - Government, Meet Greater Reading, and DoubleTree By Hilton Reading to grow these downtown celebrations! Things kick off on Friday July, 2nd with our friends Big Boy Brass and Empresarios!! Do save the date and be sure to tell a friend!!!

Penn St is looking warm and inviting with beautiful flowers from Riverview Nursery, carefully selected with such care, and planted by our friends at Hope Rescue Mission. Great idea!

Students reported transportation was a barrier to accessing summer learning opportunities, activities and employment. Thanks to a generous grant, Reading School District students in grades 8-11 can receive a free BARTA bus pass for the summer. 🚌 The passes will allow students to access our local libraries, parks, swimming pools, recreation areas, gyms, jobs and so much more.

Interested students must submit a permission slip and attend a mandatory BARTA training during school this month to receive a summer bus pass.

The RIHS training is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8. Permission slips are available in the main office.

The RHS training is scheduled for Monday, May 20. Permission slips will be available in homeroom, as well as the main office, social work office and career center.

The RKAA trainings are still being scheduled. Permission slips will be available in the main office.
