Trixie X Avalanche babies born August 10th 2026

Trixie really surprised me yesterday! I posted 2 days ago she was due by this weekend, I did think she would go sooner but I did not think it'd be the next day!😳

This girl went from nothing, to barely *possibly* looking pregnant, to popping out a belly over night, to later giving birth like 2 days later💀 all in about 5 days! Gotta love first timers😐😅
So yesterday Trixie blessed us with 8 little souls🫶🏼 4 girls & 4 boys, but unfortunately 1 little girl did not survive long after being born😕 These babies are pretty small, I'm thinking she was a couple days early.. This is why I tend to pair only while girls are in heat so I can easily track exact gestation & due dates.

These 7 are doing well, she has a very generous milk supply! 1 little guy has a kinked tail at the base. And another may have a kink at the tip of his tail, but I don't remember seeing that yesterday so it may just have been like that in these photos, I'll know for for sure when I check on them again..

There are a couple babies with different eye colors, so we will see at least a little bit of variation in this litter which I'm happy about, I was a bit nervous all would be agouti🤣 I'm so excited to these beans grow!🥰

Can those who have or had rats from my Anime line message me? I'm trying to assess some long term health! I've had 2 rats come up with issues recently from a couple generations ago, so I just want to check in and be sure everyone else is well🫶🏼🥺

I'm expecting babies this weekend🥳 She literally popped overnight after I made that post about the crappy hot weather🤣

I'm not 100% sure on what all is in this girls lineage to be certain on what to expect but I am so excited to finally be working agouti & top ear into the silvermane line, along with hopefully calming down the girls in the line😅

The litter will likely be all top ear, I'm expecting agouti, black, maybe siamese, standard & satin coats, potentially silvermane (although unlikely as I'm 95% sure Avalanche is not sm, and obviously Trixie isn't). Who knows, maybe some fun recessives will pop up!

I'm just happy to be having a litter soon🫶🏼

If we'd stop going into 90-100+ daily heat, and consistent heat advisories, maybe I could get some rats bred🫠😑

I have 4 girls paired for about a month now, 1 confirmed pregnancy but she absorbed them basically right after it was obvious she was bred🥲

Even with AC/a fully climate controlled room, this heat is insane.. we're having more 100+ degree days than not the last 2 months and I'm so over it😩

Nemo & Woody are officially living in the big boys cage!

I've learned tonight that Nemo is an annoying little guy😂 He likes to push the big guys buttons and be in their faces a lot.. he's very curious of them😅 it kind of doesn't surprise but it does, he was very middle in the hierarchy with all the babies. He just wants to do what he wants all the time, especially be in my face when he's out💀 but Nemo is very sweet, and overall a great little dude🫶🏼
