▪️How to solder jump rings on a chain
1. Place the jump ring in your third-hand so the seam is visible and ends meet.
2. Touch a tiny bit of flux to the joint.
3. Add a small piece of easy solder on the seam.
4. Light your sharp-tip micro torch and heat only the joint with a medium flame — keep the flame moving.
5. Watch for the solder to flow and bridge the gap; remove the flame when it does.
6. Quench in water (or let cool briefly), then put the piece in pickle to remove scale.
7. Rinse, dry, file/buff the seam smooth, polish.
8. Inspect the join and straighten the ring if needed.

▪️How to Fix Pink Copper/Brass in 3 Steps

Pickle – Dip the piece briefly in a sodium bisulfate pickle, then scrub with a brass/copper brush and soap.
⚠️ Wear gloves and eye protection. Pickle is acidic.

Restore color – Soak in a vinegar + hydrogen peroxide solution (2:1) for 10–15 minutes, until the brass/copper’s natural color returns.
⚠️ Use in a well-ventilated area, mix small amounts fresh, and never store the solution.

Polish – Rinse thoroughly, neutralize in baking soda water, then polish by hand or in a tumbling machine for a bright, even shine.

▪️How I make sterling silver earring posts (19 gauge)

Cut the wire to about 10–11 mm
→ Apply flux on the connection point
→ Solder the post onto the earring piece
→ Pickle and rinse to clean off the oxidation
→ Brush with baking soda for a clean surface
→ Polish in a tumbler for shine
→ File the rough end smooth
→ Make a small groove for the ear nut to fit securely
→ Strengthen the post by gently twisting with pliers
→ Use the right size ear nut — not too loose, not too tight
→ Done!

▪️Here’s a tutorial showing how I coat brass or copper jewelry, since many of you asked in my previous video.

▪️How to Coat Brass Jewelry to Prevent Tarnishing

1. Clean the Brass
Wipe the brass thoroughly with denatured alcohol to remove oils, dirt, and residue.
2. Secure the Piece
Use wire or a holder to suspend or stabilize the brass for coating.
3. Apply the Protective Coating
Dip the brass into ProtectaClear (or your chosen protective liquid). Use a soft brush to ensure an even, smooth coat across the entire surface.
4. Dry Completely
Let it dry for at least 1 hour in a dust-free area.
5. Repeat the Coating
For best results, repeat steps 3 and 4 two or three times to build up strong protection.
6. Cure the Finish
Once fully dry, bake the piece in the oven at 180°F (82°C) for 1 hour to harden and cure the coating.
