Mini Acres Farm

Me: quick! There’s a break in the rain. Let’s go set up for our important event this afternoon.

Ben: Let’s go clean out the gutters on the house and sweep off a roof!

What does Farmer Laura do when she gets her little mower stuck? She goes and gets the big wheel loader! Sometimes you have to ask for help. This is not one of those times. Get in that machine and do it yourself!

SCOUTING REPORT: MINI ACRES FARM

The film is in, the stats have been reviewed, and Mini Acres Farm is putting up some pretty impressive numbers.

623 blueberry bushes. Yes, 623.

Since 2017, Mini Acres Farm has become known for some of the best blueberries around, but don't let the blueberry stats distract you from the rest of the roster. The farm also hosts weddings and offers outdoor space for classes, corporate events and gatherings — all tucked surprisingly close to NC State Howling Cow Ice Cream.

And there's some serious home-field advantage here. Many of the buildings on the farm were built by the owners themselves using wood from their own property.

But our favorite stat doesn't really fit on a scoreboard.

Couples who get married at Mini Acres can return once every summer to pick blueberries at no charge. It's their way of welcoming them back to the place where their marriage began and staying connected long after the wedding day is over.

As for the scouting report on the owner? A college concentration in logistics means she's usually solving event-day problems before anyone else even realizes there was a problem.

Also on the depth chart: cute goats and blueberry-scented stickers.

Frankly, that's a tough lineup to defend.

Mini Acres Farm is a CLASY Partner, loves collaborating with fellow small businesses, and even offers discounted use of the farm to fellow CLASY Partners looking for a place to host something.

Official CLASY assessment: Strong numbers. Excellent home-field advantage. Elite blueberry game. 🫐

Check out these classes, two of which are (10/17 and 11/14). Email [email protected] to register!

Just trimmed back our lavender plants. What should we make with it? Tell us your favorite?

When I say it’s important people like me, these are the people.
