After over 12 years of building everything under the sun, my biggest project to date turns out to be for ME! As some of you may know, this time last year I committed to opening a restaurant and bar. Not just any restaurant either, but I am bringing back to life my family’s Raleigh landmark restaurant SUNFLOWER’S! From 1983 to 2019, Sunflower’s was a downtown staple loved by many and has been missed. This April, Sunflower’s returns to a new downtown Raleigh with the same old great food and service! I built these really cool industrial tables for a great client a few months ago! The smaller two tables are adjustable in height. It was fun to design and build some out of the ordinary pieces!

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted but it’s not because I haven’t been busy…quite the opposite! Back in March I was told by my landlord that I had to move out of the commercial space I’d been in for about 7 years. Seeing as I work alone these days and had 3,000 sq ft of shop space with an astronomical amount of stuff to deal with and move, it was quite the job!

Just as I was getting this news I was also getting serious about another business venture that I am pursuing and excited to share details about soon! That being said, I used the opportunity to scale back a little bit, positioning myself for a transition to doing a little less building while I’m opening a second business.

Im still taking on custom projects and building spec pieces for sale on my website! Stay tuned for a photo dump of projects over the past few months!

Custom bar stools for a client that said she wanted Purple Heart accents. What do you think of how I incorporated it?

This cabinet was designed to compliment the other furniture in the room that I built years ago, as well as to play off of the curved windows and doors of the space. I integrated the lighting to illuminate the cool glass sculpture which was to be displayed on the tabletop. When looking at the cabinet you’re not sure if it opens for storage or not, but a magnet catch push-to-open hardware gives way to some storage space inside with one adjustable shelf.
