WWIN

We were so honored to welcome Rasha as our featured alumna speaker at Elevate 2026. 💛

Rasha shared a powerful reflection on her journey from arriving in the United States as a refugee from Iraq to discovering her strength and voice as a woman and pursuing her dream of becoming a pilot.

Rasha earned her bachelor’s degree in 2022 with WWIN’s support and is building the life she imagined for herself while challenging expectations and showing other women what’s possible.
“I know what it feels like to compare yourself to someone who seems to get it effortlessly. And I know how transformative it can be when, in those frustrating moments, someone meets you with patience instead of judgment.

I am proud to be the one telling another aspiring female pilot that she belongs in the cockpit—especially since women make up only about 7% of pilots worldwide. Believing in yourself when the odds are stacked against you is difficult, and hearing someone who was once in your shoes say “you belong” out loud can change everything.”

Thank you, Rasha, for sharing your story and reminding us why investing in women matters. We are so proud to have you as part of the WWIN community!

What an incredible night! 💛

On Saturday, more than 200 guests came together at S**o Park for Elevate 2026 to celebrate WWIN Star Scholars and alumnae and the power of a community that believes in their promise.
Together, we raised more than $465,000 (and counting!) to help Washington women succeed in college and careers and build brighter futures for themselves, their families and our communities.

To our sponsors, donors, table captains, volunteers, board members, staff, guests and everyone who made Elevate possible: thank you. This success belongs to all of us. 💛

And we’re not finished yet! You can add to this momentum for Washington women by making your gift now.

How can you help the next generation of women rise?

By recognizing their ambition, investing in their goals and helping ensure they have the resources to stay on the path they’ve chosen for themselves.

At WWIN, we know that when a woman has the support to pursue her goals, the impact extends beyond her, expanding opportunity for herself, her family and our communities.

This September, Elevate 2026 brings our community together to celebrate that promise and invest in what’s possible.

A new academic year is beginning, and we’re thrilled to welcome 60 new Star Scholars to the WWIN community while cheering on our returning Scholars as they continue working toward their degrees and career goals.

One of those returning Scholars is Zariah, who is entering her senior year at Pacific Lutheran University. She’s double majoring in Sociology and Social Work and will begin her social work practicum this year as she takes the next steps toward her career.

Zariah also recently returned from studying abroad in Trinidad and Tobago, where she explored social work through a global lens and deepened her passion for serving diverse communities.

From Scholars beginning their first year with WWIN to students like Zariah preparing for graduation, we’re proud to be part of their journeys, and we can’t wait to see where this year takes them!

Welcome back, Star Scholars! ✨
