TONIGHT AT 6 PM!

From The Friends of Lippitt Park:

Last August, roughly 25 of you joined us under the canopy for an unforgettable evening with arborist Rick Taylor — and if you missed it, this is your second chance.

We’re thrilled to announce that Rick is returning to lead another guided Tree Tour through Lippitt Park this spring. Whether you were there last summer and want to go deeper, or you’ve been kicking yourself for missing it, come join us.

Meet at the Hummingbird Installation (corner of Hope and North Ave.) Tomorrow, May 18th at 6 PM. The walk is free, open to all, and typically runs about an hour. Rain date: Tuesday, May 19th.

Rick is a certified arborist, longtime educator, and one of those people who can make you stop in your tracks in front of a tree you’ve walked past a hundred times and see it completely differently. Last year, attendees came away with a new appreciation for the park’s standout specimens — including a striking white oak in the southwest corner and a magnificent northern red oak in the southeast — as well as a broader understanding of why native trees matter for our local ecosystem.

This spring tour will offer a fresh look at the same beloved trees in a whole new season, when the canopy is waking up and the park is alive in a different way.

Bring your curiosity, your questions, and a sense of wonder. We’ll see you under the trees. Of course, your support is always welcome. Help us put on more great events and take care of the park.
