Mental Health Awareness Month, observed each May, aims to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to break the stigma associated with mental illness. This month provides an opportunity to educate the public, advocate for policies that support mental health, and offer resources for those in need.
Key Statistics:
Prevalence: 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experiences mental illness each year.
Youth Impact: 1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year.
