From a standard tub and shower combo to this.

Deep navy subway tile with that handmade glass finish. White hexagon mosaic floor. Built-in niche. Floating bench seat. This Louisville condo bathroom is a completely different space than it was six weeks ago.

Here is what made this one interesting. Condo complex. Tight access through shared hallways. Elevator loads for every delivery. Noise rules, work hour windows, and neighbors on every wall. The kind of job most contractors turn down because the logistics are a headache.

We take those jobs because our clients deserve the same craftsmanship whether they are in a single family home or a third floor condo. No shortcuts. No disruption to the neighbors. Just a beautiful finished bathroom when the work is done.

The part of the job nobody posts about.

Before we swing a single hammer on this ADA bathroom remodel in Louisville, we did this. Full jobsite protection from the front door all the way through the foyer, down the hallway, and into the work zone. GuardiaPro surface protection taped down over the travertine, the hardwood, the existing tile. Every square foot the crew walks over is covered.

Why do we do it? Because this is not our house. It is yours. And when we leave for the day, when the demo dust settles, when the project is done, your home should look like nothing but the bathroom ever changed.

Prep work is not glamorous. It does not make a highlight reel. But it is the reason our clients trust us in their homes. And it is the reason we back every single project with a 5-year workmanship warranty.

Swipe to see the prep, and the demo that came after.

Watch this Louisville home come to life.

We tore off the old deck, engineered brand new framing from the ground up, and built out a two-story custom deck with a second-story pergola and a wraparound design. This family now has an outdoor space they will actually use every single day of the year.

Every post. Every joist. Every board. Built by hand. Built right.

Twenty-five years ago today.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001. The first responders who ran into the fire. The passengers on Flight 93. The families who still carry the weight of that day every single morning.

We also remember what came after. The way this country came together. The way strangers helped strangers. The way we stood up as one.

From everyone at Capitol Construction, we pause today to honor, to remember, and to never forget.

#2001

When people ask what we build, this is what we mean.

This custom detached garage in Simpsonville, KY has been an incredible project to work on. Started with a solid concrete block foundation. Framed up full walls with engineered lumber. Set the roof trusses. Added a full second-story loft. And this week the crew got the ZIP System sheathing on to seal the envelope.

This is not a metal kit. This is not a garage in a box. This is a fully custom built structure engineered to last decades. And it is going to be a beautiful addition to this property.

If you have a project like this in the back of your mind, give us a call. We would love to talk about it.

Today we honor the tradespeople.

The framers, the roofers, the tile setters, the electricians, the plumbers, the finish carpenters, and every single person who works with their hands to build the world around us.

This country runs on hands, hammers, and heart. Always has. And on Labor Day we stop to say thank you.

To our own crew at Capitol Construction, thank you for showing up every day with the craftsmanship and care that our name is built on. You are the reason our homeowners in Louisville, Prospect, Jeffersontown, St. Matthews, Middletown, and beyond trust us with their projects.

Enjoy the long weekend, Louisville. You earned it.

See those green panels stacked on the ground? That is what will hold the whole building square.

New garage build in Simpsonville. Two stories of frame are up, the roof trusses are set, and the ZIP sheathing is staged and ready to go on the walls. Once it does, the temporary bracing comes off and the building carries its own shear strength.

Framing gives the building its shape. Sheathing is what makes that shape permanent.
