📚🚨 CAUGHT READING! 🚨📚

This Banned Books Week, our library staff have been proudly caught reading banned and challenged books — and we’re not stopping anytime soon. 📚
Libraries are places where everyone should have the opportunity to read, learn, ask questions, explore different perspectives and discover stories that speak to them. That’s why we’ll continue to champion access to books and the freedom to read. ❤️

And if you spotted our new Banned Books Week T-shirts in the Reel… 👀👕 they’re available at the library! Stop by and grab yours while supplies last.

The library is today's rain location. Come on in to enjoy music, crafts and so much more this afternoon.

Thank you Palmer Square - Princeton NJ for your support every year. We are sad that we cannot be outside today, but look forward to next year. Big thanks also to Princeton Federal Credit Union, Princeton University Art Museum and McCarter Theatre Center for your ongoing commitment to funding this event. The library, Palmer Square and Mi Pueblo Lindo Heritage Arts could not do this without your support. Thanks also to Lake Smithfield Studios for your support and to all the performers and vendors who show up every year.

We are moving the Palmer Square portion of today’s Festival Cultural Latino to Hinds Plaza and the Princeton Public Library.

All performances will take place indoors in the library’s Community Room. As well as the children’s activities, including face painting. ❤️ A heartfelt thank-you to our partners at the Princeton Public Library for welcoming us indoors and helping make today’s celebration possible!

Join us TODAY, 1–5 PM, to celebrate our Latino cultures and heritage together!

Ten years, countless musicians and plenty of unexpected sounds: Unruly Sounds returns to Hinds Plaza for a day of original music on Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm.

Curated by Mika Godbole , the festival brings together local musicians and composers, area bands and emerging talents from Princeton University’s graduate composition program. We’re delighted to see our World Language Collection growing, thanks in part to the generosity of Princeton Together Circle, who helped bring new Chinese language books to our children's bookshelves.

These additions give children and families more opportunities to read in various languages, learn about another culture and see themselves reflected in the stories they discover.

We’re grateful to everyone who supports the library. Collections like this are made possible by donors who help make a world of stories accessible to our community. Thank you for helping us expand children’s worlds, one book at a time. Thank you, Princeton Together Circle!

Last night, the Friends & Foundation of Princeton Public Library welcomed bestselling author John Searles for a wonderful evening at The Graduate Princeton, featuring his recent novel, "Single Girls." The novel recounts the founding of Cosmopolitan magazine and the early life of Helen Gurley Brown, and John brought the story to life with a talk that was both heartwarming and hilarious.

The evening included delicious appetizers, cosmopolitan cocktails, a lively conversation and a book signing. John spent 23 years working for the famed magazine before becoming a full-time author, giving him a unique perspective on the world he so vividly brings to life in "Single Girls."

A special thank-you to The Graduate Princeton for their generous support of this event and to John for joining us for this special evening. Events like this raise important funds to support Princeton Public Library and the programs and services we provide to our community.

The Friends & Foundation’s next event is the fall edition of Beyond Words on October 1, featuring Min Jin Lee, author of "Pachinko," in conversation with Eddie S. Glaude Jr. about her upcoming book, "American Hagwon." The event will be held at Nassau Presbyterian Church, and tickets are still available at this link: https://princetonlibrary.org/brochures/beyond-words-min-jin-lee/

We hope you’ll join us for this special evening and help support the library!

Yesterday we celebrated National Grandparents Day in the most wonderful way by hosting a special storytime with author Yoojin Grace Wuertz. The event was a huge success, bringing together a room full of children, parents, grandparents and caregivers to celebrate the launch of "Habbi’s Treasures."

The afternoon was filled with everything we love about a great library event: a wonderful storytime, a hands-on craft, a scavenger hunt throughout the third floor, and, best of all, a chance to meet Yoojin and have books signed. And the enthusiasm was clear: every copy of the book sold out! 🎉

Thank you to Yoojin Grace Wuertz for sharing her beautiful new book with our community, and to Labyrinth Books Princetons for partnering with us and providing the book sales.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who joined us and made the library such a joyful place to be on Grandparents Day. We loved seeing so many generations reading, creating and celebrating together! ❤️
