This has been one of the hardest posts to write this week because we had to say goodbye to a very special member of our ranch family, Simon Templar.
For the past 18 years, Simon has been a fixture in our barn. Standing tall above the rest, he was impossible to miss when you walked through the doors. But it wasn't his size that made him so special—it was his gentle nature, kind eyes, and quiet presence that touched everyone who knew him.
A true gentle giant, Simon greeted countless boarders, visitors, and horses over the years. He was the kind of horse that made people stop, smile, and admire him. The barn won't feel quite the same without seeing his familiar face looking over the stall door.
At nearly 29 years old, Simon lived a long life filled with love, and we were honored to have him call our ranch home for so many of those years.

Sharon Miesen, who loved him for 26 years and gave him an incredible life. There was nothing you didn’t see those two do together. Thank you, Simon, for the memories, the lessons, and the steady presence you've given us all these years.
Run free, big guy. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten and your soul will live at The Franch forever.
