CANDACE DEVINE

Do you remember where you were?
What you were doing?

I remember.

I will never forget where I was, who I was with, what I was doing, or how I felt. I remember vividly how on that day and many days after we all mourned together, leaned on each other, overcame together. Our nation was united in a way I had never experienced prior, nor have I seen since. It's the only time in MY life everyone had a flag on their car, outside their home, or worn on clothing in support of the brave men and women saving lives, navigating through the destruction and devastation. It's the only time in MY life that the people of our country shared a true unity with one thing in common; WE are all AMERICANS and WE had ALL been attacked. Thousands of our own had been taken from us. Family members, friends, loved ones.

If there is one thing we should all agree on, it is the strength of the people in our nation that make it great. I will never forget those who lost their lives on this day, the families who lost their loved ones, the first responders, the hero’s, the spirit of New York City and this nation that came together to help each other through such a monumental tragedy. 9/11 - I will never forget - 25 years later.
