Absent for some time, I’ve decided to bring the Blog back to the website. Kicking it off with an oldie, but a goodie. If you’re interested in how to get fast, give it a look!
"Speed will come..." I have heard this adage thousands of times. "Focus on accuracy and the speed will come later." I will admit, I use this phrase in our Practical Performance courses as well, but with one add on: "...if you make it." Speed doesn't just happen. Let's say you wanted to bench press 300 lbs, four times. I...
Another NAZC is in the books. I was able to pull an overall Single Stack Division win from this match against some really good shooters, which is a great way to start Major Match season for the year! Looking forward to Area 1 Championship in the next few weeks!

Here’s a run from a couple weeks ago. Classifier 24-08 “And now for something completely different…” Dropped more C’s than I had wanted to, but it was still good enough for a 96% run. One more in the bucket. Train purposefully my friends.

You don’t need ALL the kit to train skills. Especially when it comes to rifle work, if you can’t do it without kit, you won’t be able to do it with kit. While kit can give you benefits like a more efficient reload, it can also be a hindrance when trying to learn new techniques. Don’t be afraid to train new skills slick and add the kit later.

Shoot on the move when it makes sense. Sticking a reload vs. holding the load is a decision you have to weigh based on distance, direction, and difficulty. I wasn’t a huge proponent of holding the load until pressed the issue to me in his class a couple years ago. It was an instantaneous advantage where it made sense. I’ve since been a big advocate for the technique where applicable.
