Jeff & Sue state: "Our trip was wonderful. Yes other than the snowy and muddy conditions the trails and routes provided a nice variety of terrain across the Val Gardena. The accommodations were as described and the people and staff were excellent" about their Best of the Dolomites tour.

Jumping for joy on the Bernese Oberland Traverse. One of our favorite Mountain Inns is at Obersteinberg.

As Vince & Jeanette show, be prepared for varied weather on any hike; especially with a Tour du Mont Blanc trip.

Randy & Tom on their self- guided Bernese Oberland Traverse told us: "The trip was great. Food and accommodations were all good. The weather was mostly very good…we had rain on the climb to Obersteinberg so we were soaked inside and out on arrival and some fog on the day hike out of Mürren. At Griesalp, we ran into Heather & Hayden who were very helpful with our decision to skip Hoturlhi pass because of the snow. They also helped us navigate the transport to Kandersteg so please thank them again for us. The Bernese Oberland area is spectacularly beautiful and thanks to Troy for steering us in that direction. The hike from Obersteinberg to Murren and then the hike from Murren to Griesalp were both special."

Mindy, Janette, Patti, & Mary did a self-guided Great Hikes of the Dolomites tour. Once again, sunshine as well as snow!

Wendy picked prime views to show her joy and expressed some wisdom for other travelers: "The trip was amazing. Everything went well except for the weather which is beyond our control. The guides were professional, the hikes well prepared and appropriate for our ability level, the hotels perfect and the food extraordinary. This is my second trip with Alpine Hikers and I really cannot suggest any improvements except perhaps to emphasize in the pre-trip planning materials not to focus too much on the 10 day weather forecast; that region's weather is fast changing and you need to be prepared for all climates."

From Vincent and Jeanette on their Tour du Mont Blanc: "We had a wonderful TMB journey and are grateful to Alpine Hikers for developing an outstanding self-guided itinerary."

Shayne and Hugh did a custom Self-Guided tour in the Engadine region of Switzerland and the Dolomites. The saw cheese being made the old fashioned way, quaint villages, consumed tasty meals and took in breathtaking views.

The Dolomites, and any mountain, create their own weather sometimes. Sometimes when clients hike, it is brilliantly sunny and clear. Other times, you might get a foot of snow in the middle of the summer. Several of our self guided clients banded together to break trail in thigh high snow. Intrepid travelers!

Tom and Randy shared their thoughts on their Bernese Oberland Traverse:
"All of the accommodations and food were good. And the staff/owners at all the places were very nice. Bags all arrived as scheduled.
Also want to thank your guides Hayden and Heather for their advice in Griesalp. Hayden also helped with translation as there was initial confusion because we told them we were with Alpine Hikers when we arrived and they thought the larger group was the only Alpine Hikers supposed to be there. Hayden helped with solving the confusion.
The Bernese Oberland area is spectacularly beautiful and thanks to Troy for steering us in that direction. The hike from Obersteinberg to Murren and then the hike from Murren to Griesalp were both special."

Jeff and Emma shared some photos and their thoughts from their self-guided Dolomites tour. They had a huge dump of snow on their traverse:
"Emma and I once again had a fantastic trip. The Dolomites were so different compared to the Bernese Oberland and we really enjoyed our experience.I thought all the accommodations were great and I enjoyed having a few days in different towns instead of constantly moving compared to our Bernese Oberland trip last year. Being in town for longer was helpful as we were able to buy layers (like rain pants) and other items (pastries…) for the freak weather we were not expecting. I also LOVED that each hike had great lunch spots with hot chocolate. It really broke up the days and made every hike feel easier."
