More than 55 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. Throughout the month, organizations encourage supporters to wear purple and promote brain health.

National Women's Health Week 2026 is now underway. It began this past Sunday, May 6, Mother’s Day. This annual observance, led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health, encourages women of all ages to prioritize their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Established in 2000, it highlights the importance of preventive health measures, including regular check-ups, physical activity, healthy eating, not smoking, and following general safety guidelines.

National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale's birthday. These fixed dates improve planning and position National Nurses Week as an established recognition event. Since 1998, May 8 has been designated National Student Nurses Day and is celebrated annually. Since 2003, National School Nurse Day has been observed each year on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week. Let’s celebrate nurses and their impact on patient care.

Today, Monday, is “National Star Wars Day” – May 4, 2026. Star Wars serves as a powerful inspiration for fans of all ages to come together, unite their strengths, and strive toward a better tomorrow. By working as a team, we can strengthen the Force that binds us and create a space where collective wisdom and collaboration can generate innovative ideas and opportunities for growth.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The month has been observed in the U.S. since 1949. Millions face mental illness yearly. In May, many join the movement to raise awareness, fight stigma, support, educate, and advocate for policies. It’s a perfect opportunity to share mental health resources and information with your community and to promote philanthropic investment in care, treatment, education, and awareness.

March 30th is National Doctors’ Day. Doctors are the backbone of a hospital or clinic. From specialized physicians to general practitioners, doctors perform the day-to-day work that saves lives and treats patients. They work long shifts, tirelessly treating patient after patient. Today, take the opportunity to reach out and give a special "thank you” to a physician who makes a difference.
