We’re proud to announce that Sharon Sherpa, our Director of Operations, has joined the Ambassador Board of Friends of the Children - Portland Friends of the Children - Portland!

Friends of the Children Friends of the Children is a national nonprofit that pairs youth facing systemic obstacles with paid, professional mentors for 12+ years, no matter what. It’s the first and only long-term professional mentoring program of its kind in the country, and its model is proven to work.

The Ambassador Board raises awareness of FriendsPDX’s mission through marketing, fundraising, and relationship building among the next generation of community supporters. Sharon will bring strong leadership and operational expertise to that work.

Using our time and talents to strengthen the communities we call home is a core part of who we are at Avenue, and it’s one of the reasons we’re proud to be a certified B Corp. Congratulations, Sharon! We can’t wait to see the difference you’ll make for Portland’s youth.

Avenue is heading to the High Desert! 🌵

Anna Madill and Megan Kenealy will be representing us at the Nonprofit Association of Oregon’s High Desert Nonprofit Conference on September 15th!

They’ll be presenting “Do More With Less: A Practical Digital Marketing Playbook for Nonprofits,” sharing actionable ways nonprofit teams can make a bigger digital impact with limited time and resources.

10 weeks, lots of content, plenty of learning and one internship era offically complete ✨

Today is Ailene’s last day with us as our Digital Marketing Intern! From jumping into client projects and social content to joining podcast recordings, team planning and everything in between, she’s brought curiosity, creativity and a willingness to learn to every part of her internship.

We’re so greatful to have had Ailene on the team this summer through The Script (formerly Emerging Leaders PDX) and we’re excited to cheer her on in whatever comes next! 🩵
