Edits over tea
Today I drank tea and worked on photos from this final shoot in Hong Kong, taken a week ago today...
I went to the restroom, and returned to see a regular looking at some of the unedited images on my screen from this shoot with Aim 🇦🇺🇬🇧🇵🇱, as I had forgotten to lock when I stepped. away... commented on how they liked them, then the owner mentioned something as well... So here I share another image for the world to see- And a bit of background-
I woke with the rain and wind upon the window on my last day in Hong Kong, then messages on my phone saying my flight was delayed even more than what they had said the day before, and then that they had rebooked me in my sleep onto an earlier flight that I had no chance to make. I was a little worried and a bit frustrated as I did the back and forth in messages with the airline, 3 agents later I was rebooked again to a late night flight 10 hours after my first flight was scheduled to take off. It led to an amazing extra day to see and explore things in Hong Kong. I went on a walk, the rain having calmed, got food, and returned to the hotel a bit relaxed from the frustration and worries I woke with for this final shoot of the trip with Aim 🇦🇺🇬🇧🇵🇱. Then ferry rides, walks, pineapple buns, museum, and waterfalls before departing for home.
She has inspired and challenged me to create and expand my awareness of possibility. She's also led me to amazing places of wonder with her scouting and planning. From places where I stood in cool water with icebergs, and midnight sun... to places where I should have brought my hiking bag and 3L water bladder vs my travel bag and 1L water bottle... where I hit my head on tree branches, rocks, got stabbed by the native plant life and more... now to slowly work through what was captured in those places, and drinking tea... lots and lots of tea, maybe too much tea.

The greens in the background were beautiful, but in the end, this monotone won out....

I almost left the 14-24mm at home when I went to Iceland, but I'm glad I didn't. There were several times where I wanted or needed 14mm and 24mm the widest on my next lens would not have been enough... here being one of them.
While shooting here, our last location of the roadtrip, I had the 14-24 on my trusty Z6, and the 24-70 on the z6III, so I was using my tried and true z6 and being amazed at what I captured...
In other locations I often used the z6III as primary, but it's evf lead me to give up in a few places with as I thought I couldn't capture the shot with the way the light was... here though as the 14-24 was on my z6 and I was using it and all was good, but then I grabbed the z6III a few times, for the lens on it, and it gave me that same experience it had on the glacier and I was like what.. I took a shot looked at the preview of the shot and realized it was the evf doing something horrible when live in this setting, as the captured image was fine... if only I had realized back on the glacier several days before.... Need to mess with the settings and see if I can make it better for the future in settings like this and the glacier

Went to work on photos from the Iceland photography road trip but found myself going back in time to images filled with light and shadow.
All natural light, in a studio in downtown Salem.
I think I know which version of this image I like the most, but I was debating for a bit, so a few options shared.
