Happy Sunday! 🌴 🔥
Open 11am - 3pm or sold out
Thank you to for that YouTube video — sending lots of new customers our way. Sharing our Island BBQ and CHamoru food makes us so happy! 🫶🏾 🇬🇺❤️🇲🇵
Been waiting in those lines? 😅
Si Yu’us ma’åse 🙏🏾 thank you! Happy to see our new and regular customers matching vibes all week! ✨ 💗
Did we miss you?
So sorry! Our goal isn’t to sell out. (We’ve been shopping daily, 2x most days…prepping extra, working our crew to da max, filling up our tiny cart with a bigger team per shift, running two large grills in the back… )😮💨 We’re trying our best to keep the food flowing!
😭 This is the reality of the constraints of food cart space.
By the way, thank you for messaging that we’re overdue for a restaurant! 8 years in and we’re definitely feeling it!
👀 See a space that would be a good fit for us to expand? Would love to hear about it!
Thanks for your continued support and allll the love, fam! 😊 💗

Show Us the Good: Oregon Diaspora Fundraiser Rallies Pacific Communities for Sinlaku, Chuuk Recovery
SALEM, Ore. — A team of Marianas community members in Oregon brought together Pacific Islander communities on Saturday for a daylong fundraiser that raised $3,000 in monetary donations and gathered goods for shipment home to the Northern Mariana Islands and Chuuk.
The event was held Saturday, May 23, at the Elks Lodge #336 in Salem, Oregon. It opened with a garage sale and donation drop-off during the day and continued into the evening with a comedy and jam session featuring performances and representation from the CNMI's Chamorro and Refaluwasch communities, Palau, and Chuuk.
The team, calling itself CNMIRIE, was led by Shany "Irie" Tudela and includes Lawrence Hocog, Manny "Brown" Tenorio, Charles Rosé, and Kolfred Mettao, who also performs as Kol da Lokol. Hocog is associated with Rota Times, Kmnwlth, and Hafa Stone.
"Our goal for this was unity and inclusivity," Tudela said.
Of the $3,000 raised, $1,000 was donated by the president and members of the Elks Lodge #336. Manny Tenorio and Doll Brody, both taotao CNMI, are members of the lodge. Additional monetary donations came in through a raffle, vendor proceeds, and contributions from members of the Palauan community.
Matson sponsored a shipping container to bring the collected goods home, the organizers said. CNMIRIE also thanked the ChaGI organization, Defend Marianas, and Waste Management for their support.
Tudela said the team is still discussing how to allocate the funds between Saipan, Tinian, and Chuuk. Some of the proceeds may go toward filling a separate container bound for Chuuk that is staged in northern Washington, she said.
Da Micro Podcast attended the event and conducted interviews.
"Bringing everyone together in unity for the cause was the vision, and I am so happy that our CNMIRIE team was able to achieve that," Tudela said. "All the performers brought their best, and the vibes and energy stayed through the night. No negative vibes at all."
The event drew members of the Chamorro, Refaluwasch, Palauan, Chuukese, Marshallese, and Filipino communities, the organizers said.
NMI News Service's Show Us the Good Out There series highlights people across the Marianas, and the Marianas diaspora, lifting each other up. Submissions can be sent to NMI News Service.

Because of this community, we were able to raise $3.879.14 to send love and support back home to the islands. ❤️🌺 🇲🇵🇫🇲
Si Yu’us ma’åse’ to every single person who donated, shared, volunteered, bought food, merch, raffle tickets, or simply showed up to support. We are reminded how powerful community can be when we come together for our people.
These funds will help:
🍱 Fund 3 rounds of free hot meals for people in need
🤝 Partnering again with D’Elegance Cafe (150 meals + 150 meals, matched) to make the meals
🤝 will deliver to those in need (thank you volunteers!)
🌴 Donate the remaining funds to , supporting ongoing relief efforts across the islands (our donation funds will directly aid those in Saipan, Tinian, and Chuuk).
To our volunteers, family, friends, customers, and the entire Chochu Local crew — thank you for pouring your time, energy, love, and hard work into this event. We truly could not have done this without you all.
Sen agradesimentu yan guinaiya,
(With gratitude and love),
Joy & Mike

Still want to donate? It’s not too late! Our islands can use all the help it can get. Check out page to learn more about them and other local groups doing all the hard work and heart work on the ground. 🫶🏾
Y’all showed up!!! Si Yu’us ma’åse 🙏🏾💗
On Saturday, May 16, the rain and cold didn’t stop this community ✨ Through direct donations, buying ALL that Chochu Local food, goodies, merch, and raffle tickets — together, we’re able to send love and support to Tinian, Saipan, and Chuuk, while also funding a second round of free meals in Saipan.
We’ll share totals and updates soon, but none of this would’ve been possible without each of YOU and our incredible volunteers working alongside our paire team ✨
☝️ Huge thank you, too, to everyone supporting from afar (we received your donations!), and to all of our neighboring food carts in the pod. We were worried about disrupting their Saturday business, but instead they came by to donate and show love, too. That’s community ❤️
Shining brighter together — we are Marianas Strong 🇲🇵❤️🇬🇺
