Former North Portland Candidate Joe Rowe
Page for building North Portland Peace action, formerly my election FB page Support Health Care as a human right. My Salem Lawmaker, and opponent is Tina Kotek.
My opponent will not co-sponsor Single Payer in Oregon. She appointed the committee who failed to move forward on HCAO laws, and she votes with Republicans on Monsanto and too many big issues.

Salem Democrats just backed out of an agreement to fund high school graduates from June 2020 to start Community College in Sept 2020. The grant is called.... "Promise Grants"... OMG... Meanwhile.... Salem is funding 12 billion in freeways, and they refuse to tax the richest 100 in Oregon. (Trump's COVID scheme was detached by NY and other states, but not Oregon!!)
We can fix this...Put your Salem Rep/Senator on speed dial before the 3rd special session. In special session v2 they cut 5 million from human services and only 100k from ODOT(Roads) ..
Salem can tax with a super majority. The rich are scooping up housing and bonds before the market crashes... PS, you can't by safe municipal bonds with a retirement fund.
Pandemic endangers college dreams PENDLETON — Connor Cary clicked on the email with a sense of trepidation.

Please sign this petition. It's hosted by BAMN - They are BIPOC activists in Oakland CA. - BIPOC are hardest hit by school closures, but a rush to open schools will eclipse that and cause yet more disproportionate death and inequity... Even if online school is a wasted year, that's better than wasted lives. - and lastly.... The media are misinterpreting science as a means to say schools can be safe. There's no data and no consensus of scientists or doctors.

Do you live in North Portland?
Do you use NextDoor? The bias against houseless has infected the boards of our Neighborhood associations. -- The link below only works if you use NextDoor. Please logon to next door and speak up against sweeps, and against caging people in the old jail. And please direct message me so we can exchange emails and phone numbers. [email protected] ( FYI I an not running for office any longer, but my page has a lot of kind people who connected to each other )
And tell a friend. It's sick we have to organize against our white moderate neighborhood boards.

We had a Portland toxic air weekend. Picture below.
The source is "clean" wood stoves.
Roads were clear, no vehicle pollution.......Over the weekend no industry. But huge pollution spikes due to wood burning. No such thing as a clean wood stove. This photo from 7am March 22nd. You can see the east side homes in red, and it smelled like smoke all over Portland. An inversion layer caused stagnation , which is common. What is rare is the change to see wood smoke isolated from vehicle and industry ( which did not exist this weekend in any significant form)
End of story, if you burn wood all winter in a city you can save lives and save lungs, today and even after the virus risks are lower. The answer is don't use wood heat in an urban area. The data is there.
It is now 8pm the same day and the air is Yellow, but it will be red in a few hours and stay that way for days or a day. The URL to live data is below.. You can buy one of these PurpleAir sensors at PurpleAir (dot) com About $200

PSU Climate Science Lab on Twitter “You may have seen how air pollution has plummeted across the world as people stay home due to the coronavirus. Not in Portland. We're waking up to some of the worst air we've had in awhile. Pollution was even worse last evening. Let's take it easy on the wood burning Portland.”
