"Extinction in behavior analysis has nothing to do with dinosaurs (if you have research to prove me wrong, send it my way). Extinction involves the withholding of reinforcement for a previously reinforced behavior, resulting in a decrease in how often that behavior occurs in the future."

September 20–26 is National Dog Week, and we’re celebrating a few of the furry friends who are part of our Oregon leadership family! 🐶💙
These pups bring plenty of personality, love, and laughs to the people who bring their best to PBS every day.

Shane T. Spiker, PhD, BCBA-D, PBS Clinical Training and Safety Director shares the importance of knowing your role. What does that mean? ⬇️

Sometimes, boundaries can get crossed when working in the school setting by working in multiple capacities and wearing different hats.

As the new school year begins, remember to review your role, the scope of your role, and continue to communicate this with your supervisor, staff, and your clients at large.

It’s incredibly important to practice within your defined role and that you know what your defined role is. This will protect you, your clients, and everyone involved.
