Dyacon manufactures the most practical, cost-effective, and versatile weather stations for commercial and industrial users. Real-time weather data. Real value.

Dyacon, Inc. was established in October 2007 to build commercial vehicle tracking computers. In 2012, Dyacon began development of a line of weather instruments. Because of Dyacon's extensive experience in rugged electronic design, economic value, and efficacy, our weather stations are unique to the industry. At Dyacon, we design our sensors, weather station controllers (data loggers), and weather

Can it get too hot to fly a plane? A pilot explains - The Points Guy 08/06/2024

This article is still relevant as temperatures rise across the globe. Dyacon weather stations are a valuable tool for pilots not just to establish quick weather data, but also to understand local microclimates and assess the best way to handle their plane and journey.

Can it get too hot to fly a plane? A pilot explains - The Points Guy This week across Europe and North America, temperatures are soaring. Not only do hot days affect how we work and sleep, but they also affect the aircraft that we fly on.

Dyacon Globe Temperature Sensor (for WBGT) 07/19/2024

As summer weather temperature trends higher and breaks records, WBGT is an important factor to begin to consider for any gathering of people. WBGT is Wet Bulb Globe Temperature, measures the temperature read by a thermometer covered in a wet cloth. As water evaporates from the cloth, evaporation cools the thermometer. This mirrors how the human body cools itself with sweat. Gathering this information is helpful in understanding the impact of weather on humans.

Dyacon Globe Temperature Sensor (for WBGT) GT-1 and GT-2 are used for outdoor measurements of globe temperature - needed to calculate wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT), a heat stress risk metric.

With the Portland heatwave starting to ease, it has been fascinating watching the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature change. The WBGT index is a measure of heat stress in direct sunlight, incorporating air temperature, humidity, wind speed, sun angle, and cloud cover (solar radiation). As weather systems change this is valuable information for planning for community support in extreme weather spikes. Our Portland office current temp is 89.7F, but with the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature captured in the green line it feels like 79F after a brief spike. How would you use this information?

A once in every 7.5 million year event is unfolding in the Antarctic. And it has scientists scrambling for answers Antarctic sea ice has usually been able to recover in winter. But this time it's different, with levels taking a sharp downward turn at a time of year when sea ice usually forms reliably — and experts are worried.
