First of all, thank you so so much to all to those who came to the restaurant the last few weeks ❤️ We are grateful to your incredible patience - like waiting in the cold for hours - and for all the love and support.

As we close this chapter, we would like to invite our friends, regular customers and Division/Clinton St community to a thank you party 🎊

We know this is very last minute, but we would love to gather once more to properly say thank you 🙇🙏 Tomorrow from 2pm we’ll be hosting this gathering as our final opportunity to express our gratitude and share a farewell with the community that has supported us for so many years.

Thank you again for everything, and we hope to see you tomorrow.

Takeo Kashiwagi and his family are closing a staple for sushi and bento lovers in southeast Portland at the end of December, after spending nearly 20 years of serving the community.

Kashiwagi, the second restaurant iteration of Sushi Takahashi 2, which was in downtown Portland, will close on Dec. 31, after the restaurant owner’s posted about the year-end closure to social media and updated their website.

“Domo arigato,” a statement reads. “Thank you so much to everyone in our sushi-loving community for being part of our journey. We hope our paths will cross again somewhere in the city.”

Hello!

Thank you all for all the kind messages from our last post ❤️🥰 We cannot express how blessed we feel to have such an amazing community!

We will be open Tuesday-Saturday for lunch (12-2:30pm) and dinner (5-9pm) generally, but will be closed for dinner on Christmas Eve and the whole day for Christmas.

Our final day is New Years Eve (12/31) and we will be open for both lunch and dinner 🙌

As our journey comes to an end, we hope to see many familiar faces. We may get a bit busier than usual and may experience longer wait times - we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding 🙇

Also we may have a special farewell thing coming up… stay tuned!

Sorry for the sudden notice, we will be closing at the end of this year. We cannot thank enough for all the support we’ve received through the years 🙏

In the next few days we will also be posting about our holiday schedules.

We hope you’ll have a moment to swing by for a few last dishes of sushi from us!

Hello, we’re changing the days we’re open!

We’re extending our weekends by closing Tuesday too. We will be open 4 days a week, from Wednesday to Saturday at our regular lunch and dinner hours.
