Recently got back from a weekend of birding in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the scenery was spectacular. Waking up early for birds also means getting to enjoy landscapes painted by early morning light - sometimes with special effects like evaporation.

What do you do when you are assigned a cherry blossom shoot and you get there only to find that the wind blew off the blossoms the day before and then a family shows up with only 8 minutes left before the next one arrives? Why you find the trees with the most potential and shoot like a boss of course!

After thinking there was no way I would hit the minimum amount of photos required to send to this family I ended up with 76 useable images. Somehow having less time actually made me very interaction all the more magical.

Also love the last photo of the mom…mom life at its best. The world is falling apart around you and you just have to keep going. If you don’t laugh you will cry! 🙃

When I finally made it out to the famous Trillium Lake near Portland it didn’t disappoint. Easy walking trails, shaded picnic spots and spectacular views of Mt.Hood make it a must-do for families. We even rented a kayak that we took out onto the lake which my 4 year old loved.

Adorable mother/daughter mini session from last fall.

On my walk through the nature park this morning (yes in my cowboy boots!) I kept noticing how beautiful the reflections were in the puddles. I’ve always been fascinated by reflections and love capturing them in my photos. What do you pay attention to when you are out on a walk?

Fall mini session in Portland with this fun crowd. If you are looking for a location with a lot to offer I highly recommend Cathedral Park. It has a great mix of urban and natural scenes to suit every season.

Did you know the human eye can see more shades of green than any other? If you’ve never taken the time to notice, there’s no better place to test it out than in the forest. I was on a hike with the fam at Wildwood Recreation Site when I noticed the light hitting these leaves from above creating a vivid lime green worthy of a photo.

Something has been missing from my feed lately and it’s feeling a little less like “me”. Time to bring back some green.

I took this picture with my phone while laying on the bench of a wooden picnic table. I love looking up in the middle of the forest. I love the perspective. The feeling of being so small in the grand scheme of things. Happy Sunday all!
